HumanKind’s Adult Services department provides residential community-based Group Homes, Supervised Living apartments and Sponsored Homes across the state. Our services are designed to support adults with developmental disabilities, and all of our sites are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.
Our Adult Services Mission:
To provide a safe, caring and supportive atmosphere where individuals with disabilities can achieve their goals.
The group home setting provides around-the clock care for up to six individuals with developmental disabilities. We have several group homes across Virginia.
Sponsored Homes is a service that provides more individualized care. Sponsors invite the individual into their home, but still provide around-the-clock care.
Rather than providing around-the-clock supervision and support, our Supervised Living staff go to the home several times per week to check on the individuals.
