November 25, 2021 – Thanksgiving Day
The Lynchburg Turkey Trot is a family fun run and walk and all proceeds of this fundraising race support the programs and services of HumanKind. It is the largest 5K in the area drawing nearly 3,000 participants each year.
The race was originally started in 1988 by Don Lucy who grew up at the Presbyterian Homes (now known as HumanKind) as a way to give back and help raise funds and awareness for individuals, children and families across Virginia.
