At HumanKind, the well-being of our employees, volunteers and the people we serve is our top priority. We are closely following the guidance of our local and state health departments as well as city and county governments across the region. At the same time, we are working on longer-term strategies and planning.
We are carefully balancing the health, safety and well-being of our staff and clients with the reality of being in the midst of a public health crisis. We don’t have all the answers and are learning along with everyone day by day. We ask for your patience and grace as we strive to take care of our individuals, children, families and community. We are confident the communities we serve are strong and our network of government leaders, partner organizations, health services, businesses, donors and volunteers are committed to working together to support our neighbors during this time of uncertainty.
Currently, our offices are open during normal business hours. We are taking precautions as needed and, for the safety of everyone, we ask that you not visit if you are not feeling well. As an alternative to visiting in person, you may visit us online for program contact information, follow us for updates on Facebook or Instagram, or contact us directly during normal business hours on our mainline at 434-384-3131 or info@humankind.org. If you have a scheduled appointment with one of our support workers, counselors or program staff – please confirm with them directly.
We will provide updates as this public health emergency evolves. We anticipate the needs of families across our region will be greater than ever and remain committed to serving vulnerable neighbors in need. Thank you for your support and patience as we face this challenge together.
