The Ways to Work program at HumanKind provides fair-interest vehicle loans and financial education to working individuals who have challenging credit histories. Reliable transportation creates transformational opportunities for individuals and families by helping participants build credit, strengthen long‑term financial stability, and open doors to greater economic mobility.
Ways to Work currently serves individuals in the Roanoke, Lynchburg, Richmond, and Warrenton regions. We strive to build strong, meaningful partnerships with local dealerships to ensure our customers have access to a variety of reliable vehicle options. By partnering with Ways to Work, dealerships play a direct role in helping hardworking individuals and families gain reliable transportation, achieve financial goals, and build a stronger future for themselves and their communities.
Vehicle loans through the Ways to Work program are funded in-house by LendingKind, Inc.
To become a partner dealership, here is what we need:
A W-9
A voided check or blank deposit slip
A completed LendingKind, Inc. Wire Authorization Form granting permission to send loan funds to the account information provided
Once approved, your dealership becomes eligible to work with Ways to Work customers and receive direct payment from LendingKind, Inc.

We focus on:
Reliable used vehicles
Reasonable mileage
Safe, inspected inventory
Vehicle mileage guidelines: Vehicles priced at $12,000 or less may have up to 130,000 miles. Vehicles priced over $12,000 must have under 100,000 miles
All vehicles must pass an inspection by a Ways to Work Partner Mechanic.
Vehicles that are 12 years old or newer
Luxury isn’t the goal. Dependability is. Therefore, luxury vehicles (BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, Jaguar, Audi, etc..) are not eligible.

To become a Partner Dealership, we collect a W-9, Wire Authorization Form, and a voided check, blank deposit slip, or wire instructions on bank letterhead to verify the correct account for payments.
Our program staff assists with documentation and communicates directly with you to keep deals moving efficiently.
Dealerships will also be required to provide a buyer’s order with all applicable taxes and fees listed for a vehicle that a participant is interested in.

Partner Dealerships receive ongoing business as participants enter the program throughout the year. You will be able to receive business from all 4 of our sites (Lynchburg, Richmond, Roanoke, and Warrenton).
Many partners report experiencing repeat business and long-term relationships.

We ask for fair market pricing to protect participants and ensure sustainable lending.
Dealerships maintain control over inventory and sales process.
