Presbyterian Homes Campus - Headquarters

HumanKind’s main campus sits on over 160 acres in the heart of Lynchburg, Virginia. The historic Presbyterian Home Campus is used in a variety of ways within the community and is available as a resource. From this main campus, HumanKind provides community-based support services for individuals, children and families across the state of Virginia. Campus also provides space that includes outdoor amenities and greenspace. With hiking trails, a fishing pond, a playground and places to explore, we invite everyone to come and visit our historic grounds.

Workforce Center

Region 2000 Workforce Center – VEC Location

The Workforce Center offers individuals a full assortment of career planning services including:

  • Orientation to the information and services available through the one stop system
  • Workshops on jobs success and work maturity
  • Initial assessment of skill levels, aptitudes, abilities, and supportive services needs
  • Resume making and interview preparation
  • Job search and placement assistance, and where appropriate career counseling and case management services
  • Computer lab


We expanded to the Greater Richmond area in 2012.  Our programs operate out of two office locations and cover a range of services including financial education, car loan assistance, budgeting and foster care.

Group Homes



Our Fredericksburg Group Homes for Adults with Developmental Disabilities location opened in 1991.



Our Lexington Group Homes for Adults with Developmental Disabilities location opened in 2009 and offers two models of care for our adult residents, with a capacity for six individuals.

From our Bedford office location, we offer professional therapeutic programs including foster care, counseling, therapy tailored to your needs and can connect you with additional options to help individuals of all ages reach their full potential in the community.
