HumanKind Facilities Available

HumanKind’s 160-plus acre campus in the heart of Lynchburg is the perfect spot to gather with family, friends and colleagues.  With running trails, an outdoor swimming pool, a basketball court, and a fishing pond, there is an activity for everyone.

If you are looking for a place to hold an event, our building and greenspace facilities are available for rental by both non-profit and corporate partners.

Pavilion

Covered gathering space with six large picnic tables. Grilling is allowed, with three grills on site.

Pool

The host of countless summer swims, our pool is not open to the public, but available for private events including camps, corporate gatherings and celebrations. Lifeguards are provided.

Chapel

The chapel is a nice meeting room that can be configured in a variety of ways for meetings, dinners or instruction.  Our facilities team will work with you to design a setup that will fit your needs.

Commercial Kitchen

Need the use of a kitchen for your event? HumanKind’s commercial kitchen contains convection and gas stoves, a walk-in chiller, commercial dishwasher and stainless preparation areas.

Gym

A half size gymnasium that is ideal for team practices. We currently have indoor soccer and basketball teams that use our facility on a routine basis.   Additionally,  the Gym is the perfect place for banquets or other large gatherings.  Our facilities team can work with you to design a setup.

Pond

Available for fishing.  Fishing licenses are required and available at the front desk in the Bain Administration Building during regular business hours.

Trails

150 miles of hiking and biking trails.  Explore our four unique habitats on trails in the center of Lynchburg.  Our campus has often hosted the Boy Scouts and others for overnight camping trips.

Disc Golf

Our nine hole, eight basket course on moderately hilly and light forest landscape, situated on campus.  Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc or Frisbee®.  A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the “hole”. Players must bring their own equipment.

GreenSpace

Our campus is home to large open greenspaces that can be utilized for larger events.  With the addition of tents, food trucks and/or stages, we are the perfect stop for corporate celebrations, church picnics and music/theatrical events.
