Welcome to Our Volunteer Community
At HumanKind, every volunteer is a vital part of our mission. You bring your unique skills, energy, and heart, and together, we’re building something truly special—a community rooted in kindness, compassion, and action. Your time and dedication have the power to transform lives, strengthen communities, and contribute to a brighter future.
Why Volunteer With Us?
Volunteering isn’t just about giving—it’s about growing. It boosts confidence, reduces stress, and fosters meaningful connections. In fact, 78% of volunteers report lower stress levels, and 77% say volunteering improves their mental well-being (Gunn, 2023). At its core, volunteering is about showing up—not just for others, but for yourself. It’s the shared laughter while passing out race packets, the encouragement exchanged during a tough task, and the quiet fulfillment of knowing you’ve made someone’s day a little brighter.
One of the biggest reasons people don’t volunteer? They were never asked. So, consider this your official invitation! This is your sign. Join our Kind Human Community—a network of people who believe in making a difference. We promise, you’ll get back even more than you give.

Yes, for the safety and well-being of children under the age of 13, we have a policy that mandates their accompaniment by a responsible adult. This policy is in place to ensure that young children are properly supervised and protected while engaging in activities or using our services. Our top priority is to create a secure and comfortable environment for all individuals, and this policy helps us achieve that goal.
Qualifications and experience requirements vary based on the volunteer role. Some positions might require specific skills or knowledge, while others are open to individuals who are willing to learn. We value diversity and welcome volunteers from all backgrounds.
We have several programs that need volunteers to help with childcare, any volunteer working with children will have to undergo a background check before their first shift. If volunteering with our Early Head Start program, due to licensing requirements you will need to undergo a more extensive background check before being able to volunteer in the classrooms, because of this we do require a minimum 20-hour commitment for the year.
