Adult Group Homes

 

Safe, supportive homes for adults with intellectual disabilities 

Our Adult Group Homes provide 24-hour supervision to individuals in a safe environment in their own community, which encourages them to build skills in daily living, advocacy, communication and independence. All of our adults live full and productive lives, engaged in meaningful employment, day-support programs, recreation and cultural opportunities.

We offer homes for adults with intellectual disabilities in several locations throughout the Commonwealth:*

In order to qualify for Adult Group Homes, individuals:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a primary diagnosis of an intellectual disability
    (may be dual-diagnosed)
  • Must have an ID waiver or private pay
  • Must have strengths and needs that are able to be met through HumanKind’s Adult Services

Please note that individuals with intensive medical needs, a history of criminal record and/or violent behavior, including but not limited to arson, homicide, sexual assault, weapon or suicide threats as well as those who are addicted to alcohol, illegal or prescription drugs will not be eligible for admission.

*We are licensed through the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. The L’Arche Blue Ridge Mountains residential services are licensed through HumanKind by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services.
